*Bell Ringer:
Answer the questions in WN: What was the author’s purpose in writing the scene
(Act 2 Scene 2)? Why has this scene been cut out of basically all performances
of The Crucible? What do readers/viewers gain from the possible
addition of the scene, what do they lose/why is it unnecessary? Need min. two
full paragraphs. Give multiple reasons. Bring to me when

these feelings have motivated people in the play The Crucible: Jealousy,
Fear, Love, Additional Emotions (you
need to pick one emotion that isn’t listed and explain how it motivates). Be detailed
and try to look beyond the obvious as well (Shorter paragraph on each).
