*Bell Ringer:
Summary vs. Analysis –find
this handout and re-read it
*Work on Body
paragraphs
*Remember to
follow TIQA while writing, or at least remember to analyze each quote –explain
why/how it proves your point
*Each body
paragraph should have at least 2 quotes with in-text citations.
*If you finish
your body paragraphs, work on your introduction
REMINDERS ON THE PAPER
*You are comparing and
contrasting the two
stories
*Within that
you are
*Comparing
treatment of theme or other similarities
*Contrasting
how things were written/dealt with based on era and other differences (maybe
within treatment of themes)
*The mention of
eras must be in thesis
*For each point
you are trying to make, I would suggest at least two quotes per story to make
your argument strong
*TIQA –use this
as you start to
write your body paragraphs (after your outline is completed)
*This paper
will likely not follow the technical “five paragraph essay,” but it still has
the three parts (intro, body, conclusion)
*Books with Friends work time
